Chasing sheep

After a few months of waiting and preparing our property for the added friends, the sheep have finally arrived. Joy, Victoria, and Waffles are here to stay.

I took the 2.5 hour drive out to Ellensburg to pick them up and get some much needed guidance from the farmer our there on some of the basics, then loaded them up and headed home.

After a much slower drive back we got everyone back and safely in the field. Naturally, I was a little late in preparing som things so I had to run and get some straw bedding and forgot to get some treats for them. Which meant some fun “chasing” to get leads on them to get them in their own for the night.

As with any animal they were all nervous and getting used to their new digs. Joy spent most of the night bossing waffles around and making sure he knew she was the boss for now. I'm sure that will change in a year as he gets bigger. He'll also be separated in August to keep from lambs showing up unexpectedly.

Joy should be pregnant and we are hoping for some lambs in the fall which will be available for sale once they are weaned.

If interested feel free to email us and get on our wait-list. We will have all the paperwork for all the lambs for every purchase.
